For the next three Thursdays, we will be focusing our daily prayer on the region of Andalusia. Andalusia is Spain’s most populous region (over 8 million people) and the land that gave Spain much of its classic image — flamenco, olive groves, and sunshine. With a rich blend of Moorish and Catholic heritage, it is known for its warm, passionate people. Yet beneath the vibrant culture, many towns lack an evangelical witness. As of 2008, 91 municipalities with over 5,000 people had no evangelical church. The need is real, and the opportunity is great. Pray that Andalusia becomes a beacon of faith: that new churches rise in forgotten towns, believers embrace unity, and hope replaces despair among the unemployed. May its joyful traditions reflect God’s glory and inspire generations to follow Christ.
