Pray for Galicia

Galicia, in Spain’s northwest corner, is known as “the land of a thousand rivers” and carries a Celtic-flavored culture. It’s home to Santiago de Compostela, the end of the Camino pilgrimage route. Historically, Galicia had one of Spain’s strongest evangelical movements, especially along the coast. Yet many churches remain conservative and rural, and 66 towns over 5,000 people still lack a church. The scattered population and deep Catholic traditions present unique challenges for outreach.

Key Prayer Points

Galicia is a region of legacy, pilgrimage, and spiritual hunger. As you pray, focus on renewing historic churches, reaching scattered villages, and engaging seekers along the Camino. Let’s ask God to refresh this land with His Spirit.

Refresh the Established Church

Pray for renewal in Galicia’s historic Brethren churches. Ask for openness to change and unity among denominations to better reach today’s generation.

Reaching Scattered Villages

Pray for creative church planters to reach rural Galicia — through circuit riders, home groups, and Gallego-language radio. Ask God to spark a rural Gospel movement.

Pilgrims and Seekers

Hundreds of thousands walk the Camino each year. Pray for ministries that engage pilgrims with authentic Christian love, and for the Catholic tradition to become a bridge to personal faith in Jesus.
