Pray for Castile and León

Castile and León is Spain’s largest autonomous community by area, filled with grand historical cities like Burgos, Salamanca, and Ávila, and thousands of rural villages. Despite its rich heritage, it remains spiritually dry. As of 2008, 23 towns over 5,000 people had no church, and more than 2,200 villages lacked any Gospel witness. The region’s aging population and scattered communities make traditional church planting difficult — but not impossible.

Key Prayer Points

Castile and León is a land of history and hidden hunger. As you pray, focus on reaching rural villages, reviving historic cities, and empowering youth to return and rebuild. Let’s ask God to bring rivers of living water to this spiritually dry land.

Reach the Rural Heart

Pray for itinerant evangelists, radio ministries, and circuit pastors to bring the Gospel to even the tiniest hamlets. Ask God to use technology to connect with isolated seekers.

Revive the Historic Centers

Cities like Valladolid and Salamanca were once strongholds against the Reformation. Pray for a redemptive reversal — that these places become centers of vibrant Christianity today.

Youth and Emigration

Many young people leave for jobs elsewhere. Pray for those who remain to find purpose in Christ, and for some to return and plant churches in their hometowns.
