Pray for Andalusia

Andalusia is Spain’s most populous region (over 8 million people) and the land that gave Spain much of its classic image — flamenco, olive groves, and sunshine. With a rich blend of Moorish and Catholic heritage, it is known for its warm, passionate people. Yet beneath the vibrant culture, many towns lack an evangelical witness. As of 2008, 91 municipalities with over 5,000 people had no evangelical church. The need is real, and the opportunity is great.

Key Prayer Points

As you pray, focus on these three areas: the need for churches in unreached towns, unity among diverse believers, and hope for the younger generation facing economic challenges.

Spiritual Renewal in Unreached Towns

Pray for the towns and villages with no church — that God would send workers and plant new faith communities. Ask the Lord to bring the light of the Gospel to places that have only known tradition without personal relationship.

Unity in Diversity

Andalusia’s history as a melting pot of cultures can be a gospel opportunity. Pray for unity among Christians (Protestant and Catholic) and for loving outreach to Muslim neighbors in cities like Granada. Ask that Andalusia’s joyful culture — music, dance, festivals — be used to glorify God.

Economic Hope

Andalusia struggles with high unemployment. Many young people feel hopeless and leave for opportunities elsewhere. Pray for economic renewal and that the younger generation finds purpose in Christ.

“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” — Matthew 9:37–38
