From Opponent to Proclaimer: Praying for Former Religious Leaders in Spain

God, you took Saul—a man once bent on destroying your church—and transformed him into a fearless witness who proclaimed Jesus as the Son of God the very moment he encountered you. Today we lift up former religious leaders across Spain: imams, priests, rabbis, and teachers from other faiths who have come to know Jesus as Lord.Lord, just as Saul did not wait or hesitate but immediately began to preach in the synagogues, give these new believers that same holy boldness. Remove fear of former colleagues, family rejection, or loss of standing, and replace it with an urgency to share the truth they have found. We pray that their former communities would be astonished, just as those who heard Saul were astonished—recognizing the radical change and asking, "Isn't this the same person who once opposed this faith?" Let their transformed lives confound the opponents of the Gospel and prove, beyond doubt, that Jesus is the Christ.Strengthen these brothers and sisters daily, Lord, that like Saul they would grow more and more powerful in your Spirit, unashamed and unstoppable in declaring your name across every town and city in Spain. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
