As Israel grew up in León, he could see the empty treasures around him. While his father was offering him something true and lasting, he only wanted to chase the treasures that could never satisfy him. But when his father died unexpectedly, Israel learned the value of what he’d been offered in Jesus, and he turned toward God with his whole heart.
God, we pray that the people of León would discover how empty the world’s treasures are so that they can turn and run toward You. May they find joy and fulfilment in You alone. May they abandon what will never give them peace and turn toward You for all that You offer them in relationship with You.

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”
