In his youth, Juan Manuel knew only shame and punishment. He lived in constant fear as he tried each day to reach an impossible goal to avoid his father’s wrath. But when a believer saw him, accepted him, loved him, and provided for his desire to study the Word of God, Juan Manuel discovered the reality of who God is. God exchanged his sadness and shame for restoration and joy.
Pray for the believers in Cuenca who are living out their hope each day with the people they encounter. Pray for the redemption of difficult stories and broken families. In the land known for houses that cling to the rocks, may the people of this region cling to God, their one true foundation.
Luke 6:47-48
“As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.”
Praise God. When our mother and father forsake us, He will take us up. What a beautiful testimony. What a shame that his dad was blind to his family’s true needs.
I would love to meet this gentleman. God is faithful.
